Addressed to the Supplies Dept. at Torbay Hospital in South Devon, the handwritten message reads with warmth and practical relief: “Made it in safely, no breakdowns — yet! Weather fine, enjoying the change…”. The 3d Queen Elizabeth II violet definitive stamp remains intact, though the postmark date is faint.
