1946 stock certificate for 100 shares in Consolidated Edison Company of New York, featuring classical allegorical engraving. Issued to Disiree L. Franklin and cancelled.

This finely engraved certificate is bordered in vivid green and features a detailed central vignette of allegorical figures representing Electricity, Industry, and Family — a seated woman with outstretched arms is flanked by a child, a male worker, and the New York skyline in the background. The company seal, dated 1884, is prominently embossed in the lower centre. Clean and formal, the layout reflects the visual style of postwar American corporate securities.

Dated October 21, 1946, this example represents 100 common shares in the Consolidated Edison Company of New York, a major American utility provider. The firm was incorporated under the laws of New York State, continuing the operations of earlier gas and electric companies in the region. This certificate was printed by the American Bank Note Company and processed by City Bank Farmers Trust Company, a prominent trust agent of the era.

Measuring approximately 11½ x 7½ inches, the certificate remains in decent archival condition with expected age toning and light handling wear. The reverse sets out detailed provisions for preferred shares and bears transfer details and cancellation perforations. A well-preserved item for collectors of postwar energy ephemera, New York finance history, or American banknote engraving.
