Beneath the sunshine of a British seaside summer, this vibrant multiview postcard captures Worthing’s busy promenade, its domed pier pavilion, and coastal gardens — all presided over by a wide-eyed black cat, playfully adorned with a red bow. It’s a joyous relic from an era when family holidays were etched in stamps and scribbled with love.

Published by D. Constance Ltd of Littlehampton, this postcard was posted on 15 August 1973 from Worthing, Sussex, and sent to Teesside. The child’s handwriting — “Havin’ a lovely time From Fiona” — offers a glimpse into youthful delight and post-war domestic travel. The reverse bears the 2½p violet Queen Elizabeth II stamp, with a visible circular Worthing postmark and “REMEMBER to use the POST CODE!” slogan, giving it strong postal interest.

At approximately 5½ x 3½ inches, this card remains in decent vintage condition, with light age wear consistent with a posted piece. For collectors of British seaside history, children’s correspondence, or 1970s travel ephemera, it offers a personal and picturesque keepsake from the golden age of domestic tourism.
