Above the patchwork fields of Bedfordshire, a delicate silhouette drifts gracefully through time — the De Havilland DH60 Moth, resplendent in white and blue, captured in serene motion. One can almost hear the gentle hum of its rotary engine and feel the crisp air rush past as this light aircraft, designed for adventure and training, soars above a countryside steeped in history.

This evocative vintage aviation postcard features aircraft G-EBWD, originally powered by a Cirrus II engine and later upgraded to a 105hp Cirrus Hermes II. Introduced in 1925, the DH60 Moth was revolutionary for its time — affordable, reliable, and immensely popular. This particular aircraft holds special provenance: once owned by Richard Shuttleworth, the visionary behind the Shuttleworth Collection, and based at Old Warden Aerodrome since 1931. The image, produced under licence from Air Portraits, is a fine representation of post-restoration flight heritage.

For collectors of aviation history and lovers of British engineering, this piece is more than a postcard — it’s a window into a golden age of flight. Preserving it is not merely an act of collection but of stewardship. This is a memento of ingenuity, courage, and the eternal British skies — a timeless reminder of the legacy we are privileged to hold in our hands.
