Beneath the darkened sky, the Rock of Gibraltar stands sentinel over a peaceful Mediterranean harbour. The lights of the waterfront shimmer in reflection, casting long ripples across the still water, while the shoreline rests in quiet symmetry. The foreground’s ship ropes and bollards add texture and scale to this tranquil night scene — a moment of calm under Gibraltar’s storied peak.

Published by Krüger, and distributed by Rock Photographic Service, Gibraltar, this postcard is captioned in multiple languages and titled “Rock of Gibraltar by Night”. It was postmarked in Gibraltar, and bears a 3d stamp featuring S.S. Canberra alongside a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The cancellation includes a sunburst logo and the phrase “The Sterling Holiday in the Sun.” Though the exact year is uncertain, the format and stamp design suggest a late 1960s issue.

Showing surface wear and mild discolouration, the card remains a compelling visual document of Gibraltar’s maritime heritage. For collectors of naval, nighttime, or territorial British overseas ephemera, this piece offers both atmosphere and historic travel appeal.
