Against a piercing blue sky and the calm reflections of the harbour, Lunenburg’s iconic red buildings stand proudly along the waterfront, their façades bustling with maritime life and historic charm. In the foreground, moored at the wooden dock, the grey-hulled Reo II — once a working rum runner — anchors the scene, while masts and rigging of heritage schooners rise behind her, evoking the town’s deep fishing and seafaring legacy.
Published by The Book Room Ltd., Halifax and printed by Lawson Graphics, Vancouver, this “Majestic Post Card” image was taken from the finger wharf and forms part of the Nova Scotia Museum’s collection. In view are the Theresa E. Connor and dragger Cape North — both integral to the province’s fishing history. The postcard celebrates the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, a key part of the Nova Scotia Museum complex and a hub of maritime education and preservation in the UNESCO-designated town of Lunenburg.
Ideal for collectors of coastal architecture, Canadian nautical history, or Lunenburg ephemera, this piece carries not only vivid colour and clean composition but also deep heritage significance. A beautiful memento from a working port town shaped by ships, trade, and salt air.
