This richly engraved certificate is bordered in deep cornflower blue, with corner cartouches denoting 100 shares and an engraved scene of the Great Northern Nekoosa facility at centre. On either side, allegorical male figures represent surveying and forestry, underscoring the company’s role in American paper and timber production. The central vignette showcases a mill complex in a woodland setting, symbolising the balance between industry and natural resources. Issued on November 8, 1976, and validated by an embossed Maine corporate seal, the piece is marked with red overprint denoting a par value of $5.00 per share.

Formed through a merger of Great Northern Paper Company and Nekoosa-Edwards Paper, the Great Northern Nekoosa Corporation operated as a major pulp and paper producer throughout the mid-to-late 20th century. Incorporated in Maine, the firm was a significant supplier to both publishing and packaging industries. This certificate, printed by the American Bank Note Company, exemplifies their high-level craftsmanship, from the intricate linework to the securely punched transfer markings.

Measuring approx. 12 x 8 inches, this certificate is in very good archival condition, with light age toning and mild handling wear.
