FOR COLLECTIBLE PURPOSES ONLY. This is a vintage, cancelled share certificate and holds no financial value. A fantastic piece of scripophily / industrial history.
This certificate displays a richly engraved orange border surrounding a finely rendered allegorical scene of two male figures flanking the A.C.F. Brill wheel emblem, a design characteristic of the American Bank Note Company during this period. The clarity of the engraving and the balanced composition reflect the visual language of American industrial confidence in the early 1950s.
A.C.F.–Brill Motors Company, incorporated in Delaware, was a notable figure in the production of streetcars, trolley buses and other electric transport vehicles, and the certificate reflects this heritage through its precise typography and the dignified intaglio detailing. The notations, perforations, and transfer stamps dated March 1951 provide a clear record of its circulation within the regulated financial framework of the era.
Measuring approximately 11½ × 7½ inches, the certificate survives with light toning, minor surface marks and gentle archival wear that remain consistent with careful mid-century handling. The engraving retains strong definition, and the paper remains stable, offering collectors a well-preserved example of American transport and industrial share documentation.
