Framed in a bold terra cotta border, this striking certificate presents two muscular allegorical male figures flanking a central steel-engraved scene of a large industrial refinery complex. Issued to Charles W. Early on May 26, 1937, the certificate reflects the grandeur and ambition of America’s oil and energy expansion in the pre-war era. A robust serif title anchors the composition, with a red embossed corporate seal from New York at the foot of the layout, affirming its official status.

Consolidated Oil Corporation emerged during a period of significant industrial growth and consolidation in the petroleum sector. Incorporated under the laws of New York State, the company would eventually become part of Sinclair Oil following corporate transitions and acquisitions that shaped the mid-century American energy industry. The detailed back of the certificate outlines legal provisions for preferred and common stock, capturing the complexity of early 20th-century securities regulation.

This certificate measures approximately 12¼ x 8¼ inches and is preserved in very good condition, with mild toning and light archival creasing consistent with age. The reverse bears a full transfer section completed in 1968, signed by the executor of the estate and guaranteed by The Home National Bank of Arkansas City. A historically resonant addition for collectors of pre-war oil industry ephemera or American corporate documents.
