FOR COLLECTIBLE PURPOSES ONLY. This is a vintage, cancelled share certificate and holds no financial value. A fantastic piece of scripophily / industrial history.

Rich with the imagery of American industry and progress, this 1964 stock certificate from the Buckeye Pipe Line Company stands as a powerful example of corporate artistry and economic history. The classical engraved vignette features a muscular worker carrying a steel pipe — a visual tribute to the might of America’s mid-20th-century energy and manufacturing sectors.

Issued on February 20, 1964, to Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc., this certificate represents one share of common stock, incorporated under the laws of the State of Ohio. It bears the printed signatures of company officers Jonathan O. Hessing, Secretary, and G.S. Patterson, President, with the company’s embossed seal dated 1886, symbolising Buckeye’s deep industrial roots. The certificate was registered through the First National City Bank and countersigned by the Chemical Bank New York Trust Company.

Produced by the American Bank Note Company, the certificate is an enduring example of scripophily — merging design elegance with corporate heritage. In good vintage condition with light toning and archival handling marks, this piece reflects both the artistry and industry of an era defined by progress and power. A superb addition for collectors of petroleum history, industrial design, and American financial documents.
