Moored fishing boats rock gently in the tidal basin of Seahouses Harbour, their hulls painted in vibrant reds, yellows, and blues. This postcard captures the character and quiet industry of this historic Northumberland port, where weathered stone walls meet salt-washed vessels and distant cottages dot the seafront. It is a timeless northern coastal view — both rugged and inviting.

Published by Colourmaster International, this postcard was mailed on 29 August 1973 and postmarked Berwick-on-Tweed. The reverse bears a bright 2½p Queen Elizabeth II magenta stamp and is handwritten with a warm message from holidaymakers Betty, Terry, and Sandie — remarking on the “not too bad” weather and their enjoyment of the trip, even if not quite warm enough for sunbathing.

With notable wear to the top left corner, this is still a bright, well-composed image that speaks to the enduring charm of the North Sea fishing towns. A fine collectible for enthusiasts of Northumberland ephemera, maritime scenes, or Colourmaster postcards, and a tangible slice of 1970s seaside life.
