Wildflowers edge the windswept cliffs of Handfast Point in this vivid image, drawing the viewer’s eye out across the deep blue sea where the iconic chalk formations of Old Harry Rocks rise solemnly from the water. Yachts and distant vessels animate the horizon, giving scale to these natural monuments — their pale white surfaces sculpted by centuries of waves and wind.

Published by John Hinde Ltd. (Ireland) and postmarked 17 April 1993 from Weymouth, this card belongs to the “Dorset” series and includes a concise printed description of Swanage’s coastal heritage on the reverse. Old Harry Rocks mark the eastern edge of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and are steeped in local legend — from smuggling tales to the infamous pirate ‘Harry Paye’. The handwritten message adds charming authenticity, mentioning café scenes, brisk weather, and conference anecdotes.

A classic British coastal collectible, ideal for lovers of English geography, cliff formations, or Dorset scenery. This postcard serves as a tactile memory of a much-loved landscape — part geological wonder, part nostalgic seaside story.
